"For lunch or a snack after visiting the Washington State History Museum or Museum of Glass, go across Pacific Avenue to A Renaissance Café, opposite Union Station. Great homemade soups, sandwiches and cakes and a relaxing atmosphere with unique and interesting art and stuff to look at. Date of our visit: 12th August 2010. Address is 1746 Pacific Avenue Tacoma..."
"Fun atmosphere, kind service, and tasty sandwich. What more could you ask for?..."
"Great ambiance, excellent prices, books and toys for the kids, great soups and all meals come with a huge chocolate chip oatmeal cookie- which is worth the trip in itself! The sandwiches we had were n...."
"Having just moved to the Tacoma area a few weeks ago I decided to head out and explore my new surroundings. For lunch today I stopped at A Renaissance Cafe. I'm usually a little wary of eating at places that don't have at least a few customers. There was nobody in this place, but I decided to give it a try anyway since it was still early for a lunch crowd. I am so glad that I did! The owner, Keith, took great care of me and he was a pleasure to talk to. After finally making a decision I ordered a BLT sandwich. I am a huge fan of the BLT and knew that if I didn't like this sandwich I didn't have to bother coming back. It came with a drink, chips and a giant, yummy cookie! MMMMM! The BLT was great..the place started filling up while I was e..."
"I am a local who has been to Renaissance Cafe about 4 times. The atmosphere is comfortable and the owner, who is usually working, is friendly. The food is good, and probably the best freshly-cooked breakfast you can get in downtown Tacoma on a weekday. I've had similar experiences each time I've been in (always for breakfast), and feel that I have given Renaissance enough chances and now won't be going back again. The service is slow and inattentive. Several times when I have been in, there is n..."
"I really like this atmosphere. The fact the post all the event posters on the wall was pretty cool. I wrote down some events in the northwest to go see. Things I would have never thought about visiting. The food was great and well priced. The oatmeal was great, according to my wife. I got the egg, bacon, cheese breakfast sandwich. It was very good. Could have used a little mayo spread or butter or something, but was tasty. If you ever visit, go check out the restroom. They have black like posters all over the walls, which made it interesting when you turned off the light. Go try it this place out. Nice relaxing place to chill and drink coffe and breakfast..."
"I stopped in at Renaissance for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I wasn't acknowledged right away, however, the wait wasn't long after my order was taken and the sandwich and salad were good. It's a nice, simple, no frills cafe - one of those nice places to relax with a good book while you enjoy your food. Atmosphere a plus. Will go again..."

"Its a great place to go if you want a casual meal. The have great service and a good varitey in the menu. My family and I almost always go there or lunch if we are in the area, or just want to go out for a good lunch, we always go there if my uncle's visiting . Its pretty much my first choice for going out to Breakfast or dinner. The have some really neat vintage posters hanging up that I like. Plus the guy makes really good cookies, once he gave us the recipe, but we can never get them just rig..."
"Judging from the reviews, I'm glad we went for breakfast because it was really good. The place is kitchy without being cluttered and homey.  Coffee and tea is a help-yourself ordeal (and I'd like to add the coffee was pretty darn good on this particular day).  We ordered eggs and bacon and toast (for me) and Mexican-esque eggs and toast (for him). The eggs are fluffy and light without being too dense/chewy/crunchy (oh come on, you've had those, too), the bacon was good, and the toast was really nice and hearty.  It was a great way to start the morning. The owner was the one who waited on us and he was warm and pleasant.  He had several regulars come in while we were there and he greeted them like old friend..."
"Keith, the owner, rules breakfast sandwich with hot sauce locals will love it..."
